PLANT CITY - James Robert Barnett, age 85, of Plant City, passed away on February 9, 2009 at Brandon Regional Hospital in Brandon, FL of heart failure.
Mr. Barnett was born in Bradley, FL, moving to Plant City, FL in 1932. He was a maintenance mechanic for Agrico Chemical before retiring in 1986 and a lifelong farmer.
Predeceased by his parents, Bob Barnett & Sallie T. Barnett; and sister, Mary Dyal. He is survived by 3 sons: James Robert (Bobby) Barnett, Plant City, FL, Darryl R. Barnett and his wife La Cresha of Mulberry, FL, Gary Michael Barnett and his wife Linda of Lakeland, FL; and grandchildren: James R. Barnett III, Shannon L. Barnett, Darryl R. Barnett, MaKenzie R. Barnett, Madison B. Barnett, Vivian A. Barnett, Devon R. Barnett; and 4 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 12th at Wells Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 13th at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery East, Plant City, FL.
