Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, February 17, 2002, at Earthman Resthaven Chapel, 13102 North Frwy., with a funeral service to be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 18, 2002, at Earthman Resthaven Chapel. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery. |

Mrs K L Haden Succumbs at La Marque Home
Mrs Kate Lee Haden, 75, widow of the late Capt J E Haden, died Saturday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs W F Schneider, in La Marque.
Mrs Haden was born in Cedar Bayou, Texas, Jan 12, 1871. She had made her home in Galveston for 44 years.
Surviving are: One son, J A Haden; two daughters, Mrs Eugene Jackson of Galveston and Mrs W F Schneider of La Marque; one sister, Mrs Annie M Enell of Galveston; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the J Levy & Bro funeral home this afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev Edmund H Gibson of Trinity Episcopal Church will officiate. Internment will be in Galveston Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be George E McDaniel, Jr, Lew Moore, JT Homberg, Capt H O Weatherbee, Oscar Hopkins, and E J DeBarbieris. |

ROSEMARY FISHER JENNINGS, 76, of Baytown, Texas passed away Wednesday August 11, 1999 in a local hospital. She was born July 11, 1923 in Cedar Bayou, Texas. She was a homemaker and a life member of Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the DRT, Daughters of the Republic of Texas (Solomon Barrow Chapter), DAR, Daughters of the American Revolution, Baytown Chapter American Diabetes Association, Cedar Bayou Garden Club, and the Chambers County Historical Commission. The family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Friday August 13, 1999 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held Saturday August 14, 1999, 10 a.m. at the Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church in Baytown, with Rev. Roddy Bland officiating and Dr. Jimmy Jackson and Rev. Jeff Powers assisting. Burial will follow at the Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Barker, Reggie Brewer, John C. Echols, Warren Fisher , Conrad Magouirk, Boots Nelson, Mark Tiller, and Greg Wallace. Honorary pallbearers will be Cecil Bobbitt, Dr. Phil Eichelberger, Lonnie Fisher , Bob Gillette, Ted Hazlewood, Douglas Stewart, Ken Taylor, and Lindsey Wilcox. Mrs. Jennings was preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Ann Jennings and her parents, Pirtle Joseph and Annie Grace Fisher . She is survived by her husband, Johnnie Glenn Jennings Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, Johnnie Glenn Jennings Jr. and his wife Connie; and grandsons, Johnnie Glenn Jennings III and Edmund Lee Jennings, all of Baytown. In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church or the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are under the direction of

Stevens; daughter, Beverley Halliday and husband David, Williamsdale; sons, Jack Purdy and Karen, Williamsdale; Bob Purdy and wife Jean, Halifax; stepdaughter, Vonetta Chouinard and husband John, Millvale; stepson, Norman Stevens and wife Elsie, Oxford; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Hubert Purdy and wife Ida, Dorchester, N.B.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by grandson, Terry D. Halliday; sisters, Doris Lloy, Christina Lloy, Mrs. Bernice Rushton, Jean Jollymore and Inez Rushton; brothers, Harold Purdy, Ernest Purdy, Leo Purdy and Ivan Purdy. Cremation has taken place at the request of the deceased. No visitation. Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, in Allen’s Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford, Rev. Claudia Keller-Hatt officiating. Burial will take place in the Millvale United Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the charity of choice. |
